Hey gang! How’s it going? Man, you guys wouldn’t believe some of the amazing things we’re working on over here at Tumblr HQ. There’s something magical around every corner. It’s pretty much exactly like Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory without the fruit-coated wallpaper (I’ve checked).
On the other hand, we do spontaneously break into song after sending disobedient children to their doom.

Although details are scant at this point, here’s what we know: for the next few weeks, Tumblr users are encouraged to create and load homemade short films to Tumblr.com/Films. The pieces have to be between 5 and 10 minutes. Any other restrictions? Nope! Any prizes or real recognition? Nope! It’s kind of a ready, set, make stuff! mentality for a film festival, but no one said this had to be Cannes.
Paste Magazine wrote up the Film Festival. Awesome.
We have close to 100 short film submissions to watch this weekend! Awesomer.
PS I am saying RIGHT NOW it has to be way fucking BETTER than Cannes. Definitely more puns on the word Cannes, if nothing else. Probably drunker people. Free-er. More jokes. Hotter girls. Better liveblogging.
